Meet Jean A. Miller, a remarkable educator shaping the future of music in Colorado. A fourth-generation Coloradan from Wheat Ridge her lifelong passion for music and languages has culminated in an illustrious teaching career that spans many years.
Armed with a teaching certification focusing on music and languages, Jean began her musical journey at Colorado Women’s College, where she honed her piano skills and had the opportunity to practice daily on their pipe organ. Her journey continued at the University of Colorado in Boulder and later, she took her talents to Colorado’s High Country.
Over 25 years ago, her family returned to Boulder, setting up the music studio that has now become a cornerstone of the community. Now, she proudly works alongside her son, master violin teacher Kirk Patrick Miller, and daughter, versatile violin and piano teacher Chandi Beck, forming a formidable and beloved teaching trio. There is great joy in working as a family and with their varied backgrounds they have much to offer and can offer versatile and unique perspectives, ready to face any challenge presented. Their studio is ready for the youngest, but is also ready to prepare any student for a college degree.
Jean’s teaching philosophy is centered around understanding and caring for each student as a unique individual. From teaching eager 3-year-olds to guiding adult learners, she strives to instill in her students a lifelong love for music. She firmly believes that music education is about more than just playing an instrument – it’s about fostering dedication, learning perseverance, and building a strong work ethic.

Jean is deeply committed to empowering the younger generation through music, preparing them to face the world with confidence and creativity.
